Q: Pretty Little Liars has been so successful this summer, what kind of ride has it been?

Lucy Hale: It’s new for all us, I think, starting a new show, all the nerves and excitement about being involved with something great, just going through the success of it all. We just got nominated for a Teen Choice Award. It’s just new experiences and we’re sharing it with lots of great people, so it’s fun.

Q: At the Teen Choice Awards, who are you excited to see?

Lucy Hale: I’m excited to see the fans of Twilight freaking out because I’ve never experienced it firsthand.

Troian Bellisario: What about the fans of Justin Bieber?

Lucy has visited KTLA News Morning Show and talked about Pretty Little Liars. Some of the things she said:

“It’s not the end of the Fitz and Montgomery relationship. There’s a little question about where he’s gone, is he gone for good? Because in the books he goes away and when he goes away, he goes away for good … but it’s not the end of it. [The Montgomery family] is pretty much broken at this point … Everyone expected my dad to leave, but my mom goes away. I’m trying to spend time with my dad, with my mom and take care of my brother and try to keep a sane head for myself.”

Lucy says her favorite episode is “The Homecoming” episode.

“I loved the outfits and I loved the set. We don’t always get to come together, the whole cast, because we have our own separate storylines. In this one, literally probably every character was in that episode so that was really fun for me.”

Personal Style Icons: “I love the classic [style icons] like Kate Moss and Sienna Miller, but I really admire girls my age, like Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus, for their everyday style.”
Must-Try Trends: “I wore lots of kitten heels on the shoot, so those are something I’d like to try for fall.”
Go-To Outfit: “I have lots of meetings to go to right now, so my go-to outfit is ankle-length skinny jeans, nude heels, an oversized flowy girly top, and a little black blazer that’s fitted in the arms and at the waist.”
Favorite Piece in Her Wardrobe: “I have two! The first one is this gorgeous black lace strapless dress I got at a vintage store. I’ve never even worn it, but it’s so beautiful and I don’t think there’s another quite like it. I also have a pair of Steve Madden motorcycle boots that I’ve worn the heck out of!”
Favorite Places to Shop: “Free People and Urban Outfitters, but the good thing about LA is that there are so many cute boutiques here—on Robertson, Third Street, Melrose—so you can find one-of-a-kind things. I just went to Fairfax Flea Market for the first time and I literally died, there’s so much good stuff there, it’s amazing!”

Why should you tune in for Pretty Little Liars, which debuts on ABC Family tonight?

Star Lucy Hale makes it clear in a new interview with TV Guide: the series has “really cute boys, great love stories and you get to see some cool fashion.”

What else do you need to know about the drama?!? Hale reveals more in the following excerpts:

What is her character, Aria, like? In the pilot, she’s coming home from Iceland, where she found herself and became comfortable with who she was. She’s very mature for her age and comfortable in her own skin, which I think is good for girls to see because it’s kind of rare. She’s different; she’s quirky. She sort of does her own thing, and she’s fine with it.

Is there pressure to live up to the books on which the show is based? Some people are upset because we don’t look like the models on the covers. I think everyone’s doing a great job because the characteristics are all the same – the trials they go through, the secrets that they keep.

On Aria’s love interest, Mr. Fitz (Ian Harding): I meet this great guy in a restaurant, and think I’ve met a wonderful person who I connect with really well. Then go to school the next day and, bam, he’s my English teacher. We try to stop it. We know it’s wrong and we know it can get him in trouble, but we have this undeniable connection and chemistry and can’t stay away from each other.

“Liars” star Lucy Hale (Aria Montgomery on the show) tells Zap2it that the funeral scene was her favorite part of filming so far. “Since we all have our separate storylines, we don’t always get to work together, but I just love when all of us get together and do a huge scene. In the pilot, there’s a huge funeral scene and probably every single cast member is there, so that’s always fun,” says Lucy.
